About the Firm

Primary Attorney and Founder of the Firm, Sara L. Bloom

I have been practicing law since 1992 after earning my Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law.  I began my career as a litigator for one of the largest insurance companies in the U.S., trying motor vehicle accidents in state court.  I intimately learned the workings of insurance companies.  It is no surprise that insurance companies want to settle cases for as little as possible.  I fully understand how to convince insurance companies to settle claims quickly and at an amount advantageous to my client.  I grew my practice into other areas of the law, including Employment and Family Law, and litigate these cases, as well as, handle Arbitrations and Mediations.

After three years of working for an insurance company with over a hundred trials under my belt, I went into private practice handling personal injury (tort) and employment cases and a variety of other types of cases.  I later moved to Washington, D.C., and worked with one of the largest public transit authorities in the country for more than a decade.  I handled hundreds of personal injury cases before judges and juries on behalf of the public transit authority in state and federal courts.  The main objective was to save the public transit authority money and pay the least amount to the injured as possible.  Although I saved the authority thousands of dollars, I learned the tricks of the trade and know how to get the most out of your case.  I also handled employment cases on behalf of the public transit authority in litigation and arbitration, gaining valuable employment law experience.

Looking to embrace all that Alaska has to offer, I moved to Anchorage several years ago and began practicing law.  I worked for a small law firm and at the State of Alaska Human Rights Commission combating discrimination, including sexual harassment, race, gender, national origin, disability, age, and marital status discrimination, and retaliation.  I am now in private practice defending the rights of individuals who have been injured in accidents by the negligence or intentional acts of others or harmed by their employers.   I have taken to Alaska's courts cases involving retaliation, discrimination, wrongful termination, negligence, fraudulent concealment, divorce and child custody, and breach of contract actions.  I also aim to assist employers in preventing workplace problems such as discrimination, and I offer training and policy revision as required by conciliation agreements and settlement or court order.

I look forward to discussing the facts of your case or situation with you and providing you with the individualized attention and professionalism you deserve.
